Thank You Chief Carmen Best

The Seattle Restaurant Alliance extends our deep gratitude to Seattle Police Chief Carmen Best for her long and dedicated service to our community. She has demonstrated her love for this city and its people, and her retirement is a great loss for our city.

As our restaurants, bars, taverns, and businesses have worked to address public safety challenges facing our industry and city, Chief Best has been a strong partner to discuss solutions. Chief Best has met with our members to discuss safety and security for our businesses, employees, and the neighborhoods in which we serve. She has been accessible, candid, committed and always solution oriented.

Chief Best has been dedicated to a professional and constantly improving Seattle police department and we applaud the gains she has made promoting diversity in the police department and leading the department toward compliance with the federal consent decree. As a city, Seattle has work to do to address the serious issues which prevent us from being a community that works for everyone. However, we can only accomplish this goal if we all work together in a positive collaborative manner.

As the industry that serves, we thank Chief Best for her dedication to Seattle and for her service with strength, dignity, honor, and integrity.
