Seattle Sales Tax Increase of .15% Effective April 1, 2021, in Accordance with Voter Approved Transportation Benefits District Proposal
As a reminder, the Seattle sales tax rate increased .15% on April 1, 2021 to a combined 10.25%. This increase was passed by voters in November as part of the renewal of the Seattle Transportation Benefits District proposal, which replaced an expiring 2014 measure. The increase is expected to generate approximately $39M annually over six years to fund transit service, capital projects, and transit access programs.
