Gov. Inslee announces statewide, two-week pause: all counties frozen in current phase
Today, Gov. Jay Inslee announced that he is pausing phase movement of his Healthy Washington—Road to Recovery plan for the next two weeks. Every county including King County will remain frozen in their current phase until he re-evaluates after the two-week pause.
Inslee credited plateauing case counts and an uptick in vaccine distribution for his decision. As of today, 54% of eligible adults have received their first dose of the vaccine and 38% of eligible adults are fully vaccinated in Washington.
“Today’s announcement recognizes the work we have all done and the sacrifices we have made over the last 14 months of the pandemic to stop COVID.” Said Steve Hooper on behalf of the Seattle Restaurant Alliance. "Restaurants have been hit the hardest by far of any industry, and we could not have weathered more closures. Our next task is working together toward a plan for reopening so we can have the stability to rebuild.”
